steam copy of project cars 2 not launching in vr from oculus app

Hello, I bought pcars2 off the steam store and am trying to launch in oculus vr mode from the oculus software's library, however I launch from oculus's software the game launches normally on my desktop.

anyone know of a way to get this working?

I always launch from steam, right click and select oculus vr. Never launched from oculus.

Open Steam, click pC2, a drop down appears, select Oculus and play.

I should clarify I already know how to launch in steam vr mode or oculus mode from steam, my goal here is to just run the app from the oculus library so I don't have to get out of vr and walk to my desktop from my sim rig as constantly taking the headset off and putting it back on is rather annoying.

When I attempt to launch from the oculus library steam generates a confirmation on the desktop that the game will run with flags: .\pCARS2AVX.exe and once I get up and do accept to launch, pcars2 launches in a normal desktop mode, not in vr.

this is actually working fantastic, not launching from oculus's software but allows the oculus software to control the desktop.
It does require windows 10 though, makes me wonder if it can remove the headaches from a certain italian driving game in vr too.
