What it is about is that those who do have track experience are getting doubted, or sometimes even ridiculed. And i'm not talking about real life race drivers working for SMS...

It sometimes goes so far that even a statement from the devs is put into question.

On another forum there was a discussion if a certain game has hidden assists or not. So i asked the devs, hoping the answer would put an end to the bickering.
Most still didn't believe me when i gave the answer...
So the issue really is that some are so locked into their own thinking that, whatever anyone says, is not going to change their mindset.

Another example is one person complaining about the controller behavior being off, literally EVERYONE told him it's not, yet he still says otherwise.

I think it's time to face the facts and accept that some people will never change their minds or admit they're wrong, and no ultimate sim is going to change that.
Absolutely, I just recently read an interesting article about confirmation bias, motivated reasoning and tribalism. It's a problem that goes beyond sim racing and which affects society as a whole.
That's why people started stigmatising Reiza instead of changing their mind about the Madness Engine. If the group says it is crap, then everyone starts 'reasoning' around that dogma. No argument or fact will change that, because socialising with the group is more important than getting closer to the truth by exploring the facts and the technology behind them. Changing your mind costs energy, it's a lot easier to just repeat the mantra that difficult=realistic and grip=arcade. Not even Kunos' statement that these equations are wrong will change that. Think about that.
There is a big disconnect between what's happening on tracks around the world and the idea of realism in these groups. It could be so much better, just watch what's happening in motorsport.

Not that film but there was a German production which picked up on that story. That's how terrible things could happen, because ordinary people let them happen.

This is so true. I remember a German youtuber from a few weeks ago when he tested AMS2 and realised that the angle in the rear mirrors is changing with your head movement, he was completely over the moon. And I thought "come on, PC2 is doing that for years, itīs an engine thing". I also remember somebody else being totally over the moon with that weather patch for AC (which looked great tbh), when again I thought that PC2 is doing this from day one. So yeah, people are biased concerning the company that a game comes from. Which is a shame.

Not exactly what I meant, but yeah, certainly some sim racers wouldn't give any credit to Ian or SMS for their accomplishments. Just very sad.

It is fair to say that all these "features" are implemented in rF2 from the very beginning. But that's not the point. Reiza "squeeze" everything possible from the engine (as before in AMS1), and show how to treat development, honestly working out every cent of the players.
