Unable to reset seating position

Started up Project Cars for the first time in VR, and the top of the screen in the menu is about waist-high in my seat. I'm cranking my neck down to read anything.

Found during googling that there is a button to map in options to recenter the VR headset. Great. Mapped the button, pressed it, it flickers for maybe 5 milliseconds to the correct position, before reverting to it's original position.

Asetto Corsa does the same thing, FWIW, but even worse, it is waist-high and slightly to the right.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

is it ok with other VR games or are you only using VR for those two.. if you only use it for seated games then set up head height to where you are when sitting, rather than when you are standing.

It's been fine in every other game I've played in VR, the difference with those maybe being that those are VR-only games.

I did try the quick calibrate in SteamVR to move head height to where I'm sitting, knowing I would have to re-calibrate for all my other games, it simply moved the image further down to compensate.

Hmm that's a weird problem. Perhaps reinstalling?
