    VR SLI

    Hi everyone,

I know this has been covered before, I just can't seem to find it anywhere. Apologies.

Is SLI supported in VR? If so, anything I should know/do?

    Thanks in advance.

It seems a great idea in principle to people like me who have no clue about programming games, one GPU per eye, should be easy but I'm not aware of any title out there that does VR SLI.

As far as I remember there has to be some code added to a game to work together with some nVidia stuff to make it work. There is no game around that I know of which makes any use of it though.

I was hoping for the same. I would be easily going with two 1080ti by now if there was a way to get it running but no... I just hope one day something like that will be included in SteamVR if that is possible. No idea if it is though, just a thought.

Itīs a real shame as we VR users need way more power than there is available from a single GPU yet. I am waiting for the nVidia 3000 series to arrive but I am afraid they will push raytracing to a new limit without improving "regular" gpu power any further. All we can do is hope.

Even though there must be some technical reason why it's a dumb idea, one GPU per eye just seems like such a neat idea to me and the most compelling case for SLI I've ever heard.

Yep, all makes fantastic sense on paper but I guess it just isn't that simple, sadly.

I chose to knock the idea on the head and invested in a bit more single card horse power since posting this anyway. It will do for now.

Here's to hoping it becomes a reality in the future!
