As there doesn't seem to be a thread for discussion about this series, here we are. A place to discuss all things Codemasters Formula 1 game series. Who knows, in the future there might be some SMS goodness creeping in there.

I tried F1 2019 on a free weekend a few months ago and honestly I thought it was pretty bad with a controller, input lag & floaty handling made the game very unenjoyable to play. Plus all the issues that are present in every CM F1 game: generic setups, unfair penalties, AI that leaves the pits the exact moment I'm starting my flying lap and blocks me in practice/qualifying, etc.

I've got F1 2017 on the PS4 and that played much better on there than it did on my PC with a wheel. Felt like it was born to be driven with a gamepad, might be worth trying. It was also the last year without the halo, so the in car view is far better.

I'd be nice if Codemasters went from EGO to MADNESS. But I'm not holding my breath. Acquiring SMS is just about their only good recent business move.
The McRae DLC for DR 2.0 is a step in the right direction, but the shadiness with DR 2.0 and GRID have left a lot to be desired from me, and I'm not friends.

I have every F1 game from 2011-2018. Better ones imo are 2013/2015/2017 in that order in terms of car handling and controller support. None of them are as good on a controller as games such as rF, GTR2 & AMS though.

Spent a few hours the last couple days playing F1 2019 after testing got me in the mood.
As fun as the game is I find their tracks frustrating. I feel like with other games I can drive common tracks the same way, Spa drives like Spa even if it looks a little different. But the same tracks in the Codemasters games just feel... wrong. Drastically different.

I think old Hockenheim was better than Hannoying. (kinda like that new nickname)

Hannoying is like Sochi meets Valencia meets Baku but without any of the redeeming features the others might have.

The nickname does just roll off the tongue doesn't it.
