Why is PC3 not even Xbox One X enhanced? Even PC2 was...
Massive disappointment tbh.

Quick question on how the game works. I've been exploring the upgrades system, but one or two things I'm puzzled about. So I set up a custom race with a Lotus Exige Cup car I'd just bought, Daytona oval, identical cars for a one make race. I got from last to first in one lap, then for the rest of the race the field then matched my speed right to the end. So I thought I would try some upgrades, went out of the race, back to the garage and bought medium tyres, weight reduction and adjustable transmission, which I changed to higher top speed, cut down the downforce. The car was still inside the window for GTB class.
Restarting the race, it was exactly the same story, so I caught and passed the whole field within one lap then they stayed with me (and punted me umpteen times) right to the end, no difference whatsoever.
So my question is, if you choose identical cars in custom race, does that add your upgrades and setup changes to all the other cars on the grid, and if so what is the purpose of car tuning? Should I just avoid upgrades and setup changes in that part of the game?
Thanks for any advice.

I think that the AI cars will be upgraded for the circuit and to match your starting PIR... I also think that, in career, the higher AI settings influence their upgrades.

Right cheers, so the AI cars will be literally identical to the player car, rather than being a stock default version. So where does the upgrades system have the most gameplay effect, is that more in career then, or multiplayer?
I've spent 99% of my time in custom race so far, so I'm a bit clueless about the other aspects, and it costs a lot of credits to find out the hard way through trial and error. Thanks for the insight![]()

Not sure if identical, but certainly upgraded.
The upgrade system has a pretty equal impact across the board I reckon... but custom races don't really need them, whereas some career modes/races certainly do. The biggest need for uprades (in single player) is in completing the highest tiers in Pace Setter/Hotlap and Breakout modes in career and in the non-stock Rivals events.
For custom races, it's more setting up whatever you want concerning car behaviour.. whether you have better cornering, higher top speeds etc etc.
