How to install liveries and the correct type fo file

Hi all,
I am quite new to the game, and to the forums. How do I install the custom liveries, and what is the correct format, since on other sites such as RaceDepartment, they come out as .rar files. Is that correct, or does it need to be a .dds file.

Hi,
Installation:
1. Make a backup of your original files.
2. Extract file/s somewhere on your pc, but not to Pcars 2 folder.
3. Open the folder and you'll see the skin (,dds)
4. Now you're ready to copy it to the root folder of Pcars 2 which is (on my PC): D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Project CARS 2\Vehicles\Textures\CustomLiveries

No need. The DDS files are in the .rar file. You need to extract your .rar file.

Ok thanks! Weird question, but let's say I'm just starting my gt4 career. Would it be possible to choose my custom livery at the start? Or do I have to take a regular one, then switch to custom when I'm done with the car.
