Yup. I have a Facebook account anyway and as far as I have read, Oculus are going down that path with all the headsets. I'll be honest, my use of Facebook is fairly limited, so if they think they can use it to advertise to me, good luck! If I was concerned about people knowing what games I play, I wouldn't have an EA, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Epic or Steam account. Thanks for the heads up though, it's appreciated
Oh and I do have a USB-C port on my system, so that's covered too. I'd seen that Anker cable mentioned and although it's a bit annoying that it sticks straight out, 99.9% of my use is going to be sitting down in a chair (and maybe a cockpit later), so the 3m limit isn't a problem either![]()

Yeah, my Facebook account is similar - it basically gets used for Oculus, and very occasionally for testing software integration at work. The Anker cable is USB-B at the PC end by the way (or at least the one I got is).
Whoever does I hope you like it lol, now that I've gone all in recommending it....

If I do go for it, it'll be through Amazon as their distance selling / returns policy is really good.
But yeah, I'll still blame you if it's no good ...
Oh, and facebook. I don't actually have an account, but, i'd be prepared to create one to get an improved VR experience.

OK, i bought one. Really impressed so far. I've done 10 mins in PC2, it really is "night and day" difference. Even my better half is using it in standalone mode.
Thanks very much for the suggestion.

Whenever I manage to get a wheel again (damn you Currys!) I'll give things a proper try in pCARS2 et al. For now, all I can say is that it is such an enormous step up from the DK2 I had before. Just being able to read stuff clearly in pCARS2 was a revelation in itself (the less said about my inability to drive with a pad the better!)
Honestly, I don't regret the choice of Oculus one bit. The ability to play standalone stuff is a novelty but one I suspect I will be taking advantage of.
Thanks again for the suggestion gregc![]()

2 satisfied customers - happy days
Glad you're both enjoying the new headset - and since you've both mentioned standalone content, if I can make a suggestion then A Fisherman's Tale is a puzzle game that (in my view) could only be done in VR. It's unlike anything I've played before in terms of the way it messes around with scale, and uses it as a game mechanic. It's not a super long game, but one of my favourites!

Oculus quest 2 owner here. I am also pretty happy with it. Also, you don't need a USB C port to use the link, but your ports have to be USB 3.0 or better. A or C should work, but it did not work with the C port on my computer, works fine with my 3.0 A port, and test confirmed full bandwidth.
120hz support is supposed to be enabled later this month. When that gets released, you'll have to post if your 3080 can push a frame rate high enough to use it.
