While I own the more recent releases of the GRID series, I've never played any of them (along with a bunch of other stuff I've gotten from HumbleBundle). I remember reading grumblings of wheel setups and F1 2019 wasn't the best to get setup. Any folks on here enjoy the recent GRID titles?

I played the first Grid quite a bit, but not much of the recent ones. I'm on the fence on story mode in racing games atm, I'm not sure it's my thing but it certainly looks like they've really committed to making it the highest quality they can, visually at least, and that's certainly cool to see.

I started playing recent racing games with Grid 2, it had an amazing cinematic career/story mode and great gfx, but physics were very arcade, drift all the way everywhere and did not even have cockpit camera. Grid Autosport was more realistic, with lots of tracks and cars, but with deflated career mode (similar to that of Grid 2019 and PCARS 3), AI was very bad but I enjoyed a lot doing the community events and time trial, totaled more than 700 hours. Then I moved to sim racing, but got Grid 2019 for old times' sake. Fantastic gfx (including rain) and great sound, but that's about it...Much fewer tracks, no dedicated time trial mode, bad "career" mode, no community events, very buggy multiplayer, I think a game with great potential but rushed very very much and it was half finished. Also all Grid games favor playing with a gamepad, it's remarkably slower using a wheel.

Loved the first GRID game. Not really touched the others (not sure if I even own any of them!). I'm not sure if the style of gameplay will suit how I've played racing games over the last decade though, but if it handles well on a wheel then I'll give it a bash when it comes out next year

I thought Autosport was the best handling with a steering wheel. If it would've had a better tire model. It would have been a lot better.
