Sony tv

Hi all,

We have a unused Sony 4K tv 43inch. I thought it will be nice to use it for racing. Or gaming in common.
I’ve searched for the specs and it stated.

Screen input lag 1ms
Display Maximum Response time 14ms

Now I know that a low number is always better. But what is the difference between those 2 ?

Yes I just can hook it to my pc ant test but I do want to go through all the hassle and discovery it is a real bad screen for gaming.

I now have a triple 27inch setup. 7680x1440.

Sony is a good brand in LED TV. I have SONY TV too, which I bought from this site that also offered Discounted coupons. The picture and sound quality are very good and it is still going very well.

TV's are almost always pretty bad at input lag for gaming and by employing marketing to make them sound better than they really are. Have a look for your specific TV on the RTings website, and make sure you adjust your TV settings to enter 'Game mode' if it has one to disable movie-post-processing features which should speed things up a little.

Most computer monitors have been 5ms or lower for over a decade for comparison. Plenty even advertise 1 or 2ms. SO 14ms could be 3x worse or even 14x worse. Everyone has a different sensitivity to it. i.e. it might not be so bad on a race track, but try to swerve around traffic cars in an open-world game and you might find the delay too much to bear. Yeah I have the 55inch Samsung tv in my living room also set back to normal numbers used the “tutorial” underneath.

I did had the time to test the Sony TV. But I think it is a waste of time because of the high response time.

I’m still thinking to buy an other set of screens. Or just 1 ultra wide. I’m not a hard core sims racer. Love the immersion of the triple screens but for normal gaming my screens are not that good as they are DTP screens and not gaming screens.
