    The Steam Deck Thread

Ok so things are beginning to get interesting on the Steam Deck front - only a few weeks to release and the techies are starting to get their hands on units. Thought it was time for a new thread to speculate and discuss what could be the most revolutionary gaming PC of the decade.
I got my order in but it's not due until Q2, and I know a few of us round here are interested, so I'll get the party started with old Linus doing a preview.

I'm certainly not less excited after watching that.

I have my reserve in.... I did the the 256gb version, but was thinking I should have done the 512gb. Looking forward to this as I've been using Steam Big Picture / Remote to play some titles on my Android tablet. Works ok, but there is some controller delay.

Looking forward to read all the reviews. I do not have it preordered but when it turns out it is the device of the century I definitely will buy one.

It appears some titles have been updated. You can see it in the same way the screenshot came from by using SteamDB.info, once searching for a title, select "Information" and scroll to the bottom.

It appear these are a test for the data and how they are populating as I went through a sample of my library and of the sample size, very few were updated (that and it references "test" in the section).

Injustice can’t believe the games will runs as smooth as on the PC. I have to wait and see for myself.

Well, your definition of smooth may be different than the Steam Deck makers. Just keep in mind, this is not going to running 4K. Steam Deck will have a native 1280x800 resolution targeting a minimum frame rate of 30 fps.

I bought mine primarily to play all the older games that I've bought in Steam sales over the years that I've never quite got round to playing. Stuff from even the last ten years still looks graphically really nice, such as Doom 2016 or Rise of the Tomb Raider 2017. When I paid just a few quid for titles at 85% off I've built up quite a library (as I'm guessing loads of us have ) and somehow never quite found the time to play them much. So long as they are playable through Proton, which most of them seem to be, then there's plenty to go at.
I wonder how many folks around the world have a bunch of unplayed Steam sale titles lying around.

I have about 660 titles on Steam (a lot from HumbleBundle). I likely have more than 10 minutes of playtime on less than 100 of those. Probably around 40 of those with more than an hour. I have plenty of titles to keep my upcoming Steam Deck busy.

Mine will spend the majority of it's time playing pixel art platform or top-down games. lol...
