    GT7 Thread

So, i've decided to start a GT7 thread.

Not just for me, but for anyone who wants to share photos or videos of things you've done in the game. I know there's others out there who play this, so please feel free to share.

Taking on-track shots in GT7 isn't as fluid as in P-Cars 2. You can't just pause it, go into photo mode, snap a shot and go back to driving. So while i do have some things saved already, updates from me will be a bit slower than my P-Cars 2 photos i used to post. I also have to buy all my damn cars now, hahaha.

Anyway, i'll get the ball rolling, with some pics from a recent online race i had with 2 friends at Red Bull Ring. I'm in the Subaru.

I spent ages looking for this guy in P-Cars 2, only to come to the conclusion that it wasn't in the game.

Few randoms here, starting with 3 from another online lobby with friends. I'm in the white car.
These first 2 shots, none of us orchestrated our car colours for that race. We just happened to end up with red, white & blue cars, at an American track, lol. (Watkins Glen)

Quick livery i whipped up over the last few nights for the M4 GT4, using some reference shots i took in P-Cars 2. It's not an exact match, as it's missing some sponsors and a graphical pattern on parts of the car.
    But, i gotta represent.

That PC2 livery is cool, have you shared it in the game? I'll download it and add to my garage.

    Thanks John.
No, i haven't shared it. The livery on the BMW in P-Cars 2, it has a triangle/diamond pattern on parts of the body that i can't quite re-make properly in GT. (It's actually the same pattern on the dark part of the forum background here. And i've just had an idea that probably won't work, lol) Livery in P-Cars 2 also just had 'Project CARS' logo on it, and i changed it to PC2.
If you'd like me to upload it for you to use, give me some time to go over it. There's a few empty spots i could prob add another decal or two, and try and spruce it up a bit. (might even upload some of the missing sponsors if i have to)
But i'll see what i can do, and i'll let you know when i've uploaded it.

Yeah take your time mate, it would put a smile on my face driving in GT7 with a PC2 livery. How are you enjoying the game? It has had a lot of stick over on GTPlanet, but I found if you play it for what it is rather than what it isn't then it's a great game.

I'm really liking it so far.
I mean, yes, the AI can be annoying when they brake-check you numerous times mid corner, or attempt to put their car into the same section of track where your car currently is, seemingly oblivious that you car is even there, (and in turn taking your clean race bonus away from you) or they just get in your way. But the AI are better than in GT5, and some other games i've played. As they don't always follow a default path around a track, and they will follow you around if you weave to try and break slipstream. I actually saw a cpu have a tank slapper, spin and crash into another car during a wet race recently.

I'd heard it had copped a lot of crap here and there from people, but i hadn't been following all that so i don't know much about why.
I've been out of the GT world for a while now. But i'm slowly re-learning everything again. And bringing some knowledge from P-Cars 2 with me. Still getting used to the lack of a clutch button in the control assignment menu.. And an absent 'neutral' gear.

I got it on release day and played it a lot for maybe six or seven months, I enjoyed it greatly and it's still my main go to game on the PS5. Since getting my Steam Deck I've been back on PC racers more recently. With GT7, since I only do offline, I've played through all the single player content, bought plenty of cars except the really silly priced ones and done a bit of grinding on the three big races to build up some cash in the bank.
All those Legend cars are a bit silly at 20M credits so I've barely bothered with anything over a couple of million - I had them all in GT Sport anyway so there seemed little point in going for those. I've just stuck to ones I've not raced much in other titles and enjoyed them plenty.
I've only played on the gamepad and I really like the handling, I think they do a good job of making it feel like driving a car even though you aren't using a wheel.

Ah, so you've been there from the start. I do agree with you on some of the legend cars being so over-priced. I guess that's where other people will buy money to get them, but not me.
PS5 controller is amazing. (i don't have a wheel, i've always used a pad to race) I have no idea what sort of dark wizardry they put inside it, but keep it going, i say. And yeah, it's those little things it can do which help add to the feeling of driving. Like the brake trigger 'going to the floor' with a mild shudder when you brake over the crest of a hill or a drop, and the car gets light.

Took this shot in Scapes. I'm surprised with how well it turned out. Remove the GT watermark, and it could possibly pass as a real photo. It's now my current desktop wallpaper.

(yes, that's what the back of it looked like. I never really took any shots from that angle in NFS. Although the black area around the tail lights & licence plate was a chrome decal in NFS)

Look familiar? Unfortunately, it's not my work. Someone else whose online name escapes me, made it. I simply found it in a search and said "Yes, i'll have that".
